In this article I going to explain the new networking technology simply said the alternative for WI-FI is none other than LI-FI.
Li-Fi means
Light Fidelity. So as per our blog rules, first we have to see the definition
of this technology. Li-Fi is a mobile wireless technology that uses light rather
than radio frequencies to transmit and receive data. It is designed to use the
LED light bulbs as a router, because the bulb has the outfitted chip that modulates
the light imperceptibly for optical transmission. Simply said it using this one
means if you no need to have any special devices for internet connection, a simple
Li-Fi enabled bulb is enough for you to access the internet.
I think now
you can understand what the Li-Fi technology is, now we move on to the pros and
cons of Li-Fi technology.
The major
advantage of this one is it is 100 times faster than the traditional Wi-Fi. The
other pros are as follows:
- Secure communication
- The avoidance of the radio frequency spectrum crunch
- Cost-effective one
Li-Fi is
faster, secure, and efficient. It seems that it can do no wrong but nothing is
perfect, including Li-Fi. So what’s the catch?
- Very limited in range
- Li-Fi is a new technology, so not many devices are compatible with it.
