Throughout our blog, we used the terms AI (Artificial Intelligence), ML (Machine Learning), and DL (Deep Learning) but most of the time we’re getting confused about this terms. And it makes us think that all are the same. Not, they are not same, each of them has a different meaning but they are closely related to each other at the same time each of them plays a major role in our tech industry.
Hey! You too
don’t make us get confused what is your point? And wait! You don’t use the term
DL in your articles? It is a completely new term right!
Yes it
right. I forgot sorry. It’s a new term for our blog. And our today’s article is
fully responsible to clarify all your doubt about this term and give the basic
idea behind these terms. So here we discuss the definition of all these three
terms and also discuss one real-time example for this one to know how each of
them connected together.
So no
further discussion let’s move on to the topic. As per our blog regulation first, we have to know the definition of AI, ML, and DL.
I think we
have discussed AI. But it’s our work to define it. So AI or Artificial
Intelligence is the technology that makes the system imitate intelligent
human behavior. So finally AI is nothing but done a task given by humans but
without human intervention. I think you’re all confused right, then I’ll give
you one simple example, AI is mostly like your brain, its starts to work even when
you’re idle? HA! HA! HA!
Next one is machine learning (ML). Basically, ML is the subset of AI. We’ve already discussed ML in a separate article if you want to read it then click here. But here I will give one simple example for better understanding. Machine Learning is the study that provides the system to learn automatically on its own through experience it had and improves accordingly without being explicitly programmed. So ML mainly focuses on the development of programs, through those programs it can identify the possible patterns and make better future decisions as per the example provided to them. Now, you can understand what ML is. Then move on to the final one.
DL means
Deep Learning. The name itself defines its meaning. Yes, Deep Learning is the
subset of ML; in fact, it’s simply a technique for realizing machine learning. Basically, this one is inspired by the information processing patterns found in the brain.
Just like we
use our brain to identify patterns and classify various types of information,
similarly, DL algorithms can be taught to accomplish the same task for machines.
For example,
whenever you see a person, then your brain first capture the image of the
person and compare it with the memories it has once it finds the information
about him then it tells you the details. All these processes are done every time you
must see a thing or person – the concept of DL is the same as this one.
I think now you all have a clear idea about AI, ML, and DL. But still, you’re
confused like me then I will give you one real time example to clarify the
confusion. Consider the following three things
- Pizza
- Toppings
- Crust (Pizza Base)
Here the
Crust refers to the DL, Toppings refers to the ML and Pizza refers to AI. But How?
Without the base, there is no use for topping and there s no pizza. Same as that without
DL there is no ML and AI. Because the underlying layer of AI is DL. It did
all the data processing process on huge data that are put into AI system and
find the useful pattern from it.
Toppings are
the main element that provides the taste to the pizza same like that ML is the
major one that gives the idea to the AI system to choose which one is best. So without
this one, there is no taste in our AI system.
The final
pizza is our AI system. This means there is no Crust or Toppings then we can’t
taste the yummy pizza. Same like that if there are no proper DL and ML
algorithms then we can’t get the proper AI system. So if you want to get the best
yummy pizza, then carefully select the Crust and Toppings.
I think now
you all have a very clear idea about AI, ML, and DL at the same time all of
you are carved on pizza right. I too have it. Ok, I conclude myself here.
